Grimm's Spiel & Holz Design are a family owned company which develops  wooden toys based on the educational philosophies of Rudolf Steiner and Maria Montessori.

Grimm’s, from the Swabian Alps in southern Germany, is one of Europe's premier makers of wooden toys. As a family-owned company, they have developed and sold their products since 1978.

Grimm’s goal is to design toys whose simple and elegant designs, combined with beautiful bright colours inviting textures and produced with natural oils and stains, are well suited for children of all ages.

The wooden toys are made from sustainable materials and offer an alternative to the plastic playthings that flood the market, they have a soft tactile finish, because the company uses a colour glaze that penetrates the wood rather than leaving a glossy protective film on top.
